The ingredients needed to cook My Family’s Bolognese Sauce:
- You need 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- Provide 1 Onion *finely chopped
- Provide 2 cloves Garlic *finely chopped
- Get 1 small Carrot *grated
- Provide 500 g Beef Mince
- Get 700 g Passata *OR 800g canned Tomatoes
- Take 1 teaspoon Sugar
- Take 1 tablespoon Dry Italian Herb Mix *add extra as required
- Prepare 1 Bay Leaf
- Take Salt & freshly ground Black Pepper
- Prepare 2-3 tablespoons Tomato Paste *optional
Steps to make My Family’s Bolognese Sauce:
- Heat Oil in a pot over medium heat, cook Onion, Garlic, Carrot and Beef until the vegetables are soft.
- Add Passata, Sugar, Herbs and Bay Leaf. Season with Salt and Black Pepper, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thick.
- *Note: If you used canned Tomato, it would take longer time to simmer. 2 to 3 tablespoons Tomato Paste can make the sauce thick quicker and also add more flavour.
