The benefits of healthy eating are now being given more attention than ever before and there are good reasons why this is so. Poor diet is a contributing factor in illnesses such as heart disease and hypertension which can put a drain on the economy. Although we’re incessantly being counseled to follow healthy eating habits, it is also easier than ever to rely on fast food and other convenience items that are not healthy for us. It is likely that lots of people assume it will take a lot of effort to eat a healthy diet or that they have to make a large scale change to their way of life. In reality, however, just making a few small changes can positively impact daily eating habits.

Initially, you should be very careful when you are shopping for food that you don’t unthinkingly put things in your cart that you don’t wish to eat. For example, if you have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, do you ever look to see what the sugar and salt content is before purchasing? A superb healthy alternative can be porridge oats which have been proven to be good for your heart and can give you good sustainable energy each day. By mixing in fresh fruit, you can make oatmeal taste better and, before you know it, you will have made a good change to your diet.

All in all, it is easy to begin to make healthy eating a regular part of your daily lifestyle.

We hope you got insight from reading it, now let’s go back to sugar cookies to decorate recipe. To cook sugar cookies to decorate you only need 6 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you do that.

The ingredients needed to make Sugar cookies to decorate:
  1. You need 1 lb butter
  2. Get 2 cups sugar
  3. Prepare 2 eggs
  4. Provide 2 tsp vanilla extract
  5. Use 1/4 tsp almond extract
  6. Prepare 6 cups flour
Steps to make Sugar cookies to decorate:
  1. Using a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until JUST combined.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, combining in between each addition. Mix in vanilla extract and almond extract.
  3. Add flour two cups at a time mixing on slow speed (you can cover the bowl with a tea towel to avoid flour spills) The dough will be soft and should not be too sticky to the touch.
  4. Roll out the dough in one cup portions to be about 1/4” thick. I like to freeze the dough at this point to make cutting the cookies easier. Freeze the rolled dough for 5-10 minutes, depending on your climate.
  5. Cut the cookies into your desired shape and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Space these cookies at least an inch apart. (They don’t have baking powder or baking soda but they do spread a tiny bit.)
  6. Bake cookies for 9-12 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Once baked, let cookies cool on the pan for 5-10 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool.

To Freeze: Bake the cookies and allow them to cool completely. Stack the cookies with waxed paper in between each one and place into a freezer-safe container. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
